at first I was genuinely uncertain what the bottom pic would be, because “republican” (lower-case R) means “having or pertaining to a republic-style government”
and given that it’s a heroic painting of Washington crossing the Delaware during the American Revolution, I was fully prepared to see a drawing of King Charles banging a donkey or something underneath. labeled “monarchist art”
(if the original post WAS unironic, the poster would be interested to know that the artist- Emmanuel Leutze -was neither a Republican NOR a Democrat. because, despite spending significant time in the States, he was German and therefore could not vote here)
